Oh, Nava! I am so sorry. Bless your heart! I know how this feels as I lost mine not long ago. It just hurts.

I am up to 23 sizzles now!! Would have been 24 if the silver one hadn't died. Still have 9 eggs in there that have not pipped. My numbers are good, but the hatch has been a nightmare!! Because I opened the bator to get the bleeding chick, which died anyway, I started the cycle of shrink wrapping the pipped ones. Then I had to help them. And then others would pip and shrink wrap because my humidity was down. But so far, I've been able to help the ones who needed it without killing any of them. But there hasn't really been any lockdown. I should have left the one in there, in hindsight, but I've never had a "bleeder" and that was scary for me. I thought I could stop the bleeding. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

So far it looks like I have 3 lavender sizzles, maybe four but need to wait on it to dry. And two blues.

But by far, the prettiest one is the bunch is multicolored, has black eyeliner around its eyes and is just gorgeous. However, it's scooting on it's butt and moves its feet like the penguin in Happy Feet. We are calling it Happy Feet. Looks like it's tap dancing. I put it in a cup to get it to stretch up on it's legs. It got out, so it can. But it's scooting again now. Legs are straight out to the front. Not spraddled or curled. Any ideas?

awesome hatch so far-even if your done it is awesome! ok the butt scooting is this IN my opinion--The yolk they absorbed is bigger than normal and their legs are a little weaker as well as their muscles-so the strangth it takes to pick its bum up to support it self is not very reliable-I ve had many chicks like that so for the first day or so I would pick up their butt and steady them on their legs to helpthem build strength--by day 3 you never knew who had problems!

Not stupid. Just a learning experience. We all have them and continue to have them throughout our lives.

Do some physical therapy with the chick. Pick it up and take the legs and bend them. Set it down on a hard surface and and hold it to maintain the legs in the proper position for a normal leg. Do this several times a day.

I had a chick like that, too, and it ended up being OK. It is really surprising to me how many chicks hatch with leg and foot problems.

I had one that hatched with legs straight out a couple of weeks ago. I took a washcloth and made a doughnut with it and set the chick in it with it's legs carefully through the bottom. It was running around later that night
