Apology accepted.

Normally I try to lay low and let things work itself out, if possible. Sorry about calling you out, kind of got my feathers up. I'm good, you good ?

Yes! Group hug is what I need, I've had a really lousy night at work last night, and coming home to 2 dead or dying chickens and offending someone on this MB, and well I need that group hug, and hopefully Gary will accept being in the group hug even if I'm in there too.

I set my first batch of Light Brahmas from my flock 7 days ago. i set 45 eggs...they are ALL fertile!!! 2 have quit but did start!! I am stoked!! I sent off two batches of eggs to fellow sharks today and I can not wait to hear how they do. This is awesome!

I may have to start selling them after I see how my hatch turns out. I have never had a pure flock before now.

I seemed to have missed a lot of drama last nght and today. I choose to stay off the board at the end of auctions that may be hard to control myself on, lol. I think I would have a stroke if I won eggs that cost $650. They are soooooo beautiful I know that I might lose control and bid.

I have the bbs silkie babies that due to hatch Wednesday presold for $5 each. I just did not plan on keeping silkies and I have to get myself under some control (sometimes).

Plus Hink sent me an email on lav/ black split eggs- I am jumping on the chance to buy eggs directly from who developed them. I asked 6 months ago to be added to any list she keeps.

Lots of hugs too all.

I was unaware of James prior to the auction. Our correspondence have been limited to follow up info on the eggs he bought. His "help" on the following auction was of his own initiative and unsolicitated. While I can not bad mouth the guy that has made it possible to replace the kitchen floor that has needed redone since before we bought this place, he is not doing me any favors running folks away from any future auctions. I hope this is just youthfull talk and will pass.

I don't think it ever occurred to anyone that you had solicited james' "help". I just wanted to ask you if he was as big a pratt in real life as he sounded on this board. I'm not sure the youthful talk will pass.
I got an email from him:

I am sorry if you got the wrong idea or I presented myself in such a way to make you think I am going to try to horde all the nice eggs. While I would really like the Buffs, I just have a feeling that Jon is going to want them a bit more.

I thought about the Silvers, and I can see from where a third party prospective that could be very annoying. I will probably still bid, just not as much as I did even in the second auction. While I would like to help develop the line and ultimately make some money on it, or atleast recoup my investment, no need to hinder others hobby by doing so.

James

This means he'll only up the bid to $500, or something? This guy suffers from severe gooberitis.

Got about 12 or 13 BLRW on lockdown, day 20. These are from Hoppy and Bigboy. Just got home from work and at least 5 have pipped!!!

hey me to Phage. I have 2 just hatched from big boy and many more hatching- I had 10 make it so far.
edit: now there are 3!

Hoppy COOL!! congrats

We have 4 babies out so far, one of yours and 3 BB's, and I see pips on all the rest the except 2 that I can't see well- too many eggs. Of the hatched ones 1 of BB's is very very light colored so I and guessing very splash

.

Had to do a bad bad thing though. They were all in a turn-X filled with a double thermomeer and holder, a dozen+ hatching eggs/chicks/shells. There was no room to move and I was afraid new babies were at risk of pulling their navals on jagged shell so I grabbed the thermometer, shells and 3 babies. That made much more room. Added more water to up the humidiy. Hope I did the right thing as so far they were dong so well. If any fail to progres I will only have myself to blame

. Will see what the situation is like in the morning. I am at work tomorrow so will have to let them go it alone after that till I get home

As a "SLB auction drama series" watcher (bit like watching "Dallas" really - lots of drama, lots of money, and some high jinks), I have to say that Gary has always come over as a perfect gentleman and anyone who has delt with him as a seller has only great praise for him and his birds (except for the penny hiccup thing was I now believe was meant to be a joke??).

I do not really think what happened yesterday will actually affect the current popularity of these eggs or the amount of $$$$ that should and will be paid for them at this point. A lot of people still want them and are prepared to pay a lot for them. And they say any publicity is good publicity

.
Eventually I am sure mere mortals may be able to get our hands on some as well. Realistically long term manipulation of the auctions is unsustainable.

HERE here!! I will second that one all the way to the bank! Those $$ bird are beautious...but I too have more eggs than one could shake a tail feather at and I can still go to the bank because I have $$ left ( I would not if I bought those eggs) Not to mention the heart meds I would have to take to stay upright during incubation!!

So we'll keep our Nava at the top of the shark pile. Lets put old whats-his-face on the top of another pile!

7 BLRW eggs I got from BishopsChickens- all were clear. I was a little disappointed in these eggs. They were mostly odd-shaped. Long and pointy. I'm not surprised they didn't develop. I was always taught not to incubate odd-shaped eggs, they don't do well. And I certainly would never sell them for hatching. Oh well, they weren't that expensive. I do have 6 from Kinder Korner went into lockdown today. Only 2 look really good, the others are just wishfull thinking.
