oh phage! my babies
I hope you killed that rotten coon!

I would not know how to sort out the raccoon. I am thinking electric fence!!
They did the same to my silkie last year but she is fine.
The birds were in the raccoon proof cage today, but are back inside tonight. They would I am sure have been OK but don't want to risk it.
They were all very happy to see me and be picked up, which is nice.

Some folks have too much time on their hands.

Or not enough to do with their hands, or something.

geez, I go watch a movie and you gals really chatted it up!
I just set my bantam ameraucana eggs from....heck, I ordered so many eggs I can't remember who...I think it was from Heavenly Spring Farms(not their BYC name)
tossed 14 in the bator, air cells looked good. Got a mess of chicks in the bator, and no room in the brooders

going to pick up 2 more shipping crates tomorrow, gotta make a lid for one and toss some chicks in it and the other is also going to be a brooder but outside(if I ever get time to build my outbuilding, this was soooo much easier when dh was around).

I don't know if I posted it on this thread but....I had a broody araucana, put her nest where I couldn't get her out. I blocked her off at night and all was good. My son was responsible for doing it one night and forgot, a skunk chased her off the nest and started eating her eggs(he only got 1 by the time I got there). She came back that morning and went back for a short time but later that day she was no longer on the nest. I didn't have much hope since it was in the 30's that night but my son and I used a hockey stick to carefully roll the eggs out, 6 of them. One quit and 5 made it to the hatcher, 4 hatched over the last few days and 1 was too big and died in shell. None of this has any bearing (well somewhat, I just babbling though) with my question. Why is this hen following me around now? She started around the days the chicks started hatching, is this biological in origin? She jumped into my suburban as I was trying to leave, she was mulling around my feet until I finally picked her up and put her out. She is not normally social with people and hasn't been held in over a year. Will she just get over this? I would have loved to give her the chicks but I don't want them to get hurt either. What to do

We should be thankful they just have naked necks and don't glow green, too! Looks like Nava is going to have her revenge!
