Chickenstock went great! Met lots of nice folks. Met one person that lives only an hour away - Leghorn Dude. Can't for the life of me remember his real name!
We left early, I ran the dogs as John unloaded food. Carla has a stunning house out in gorgeous Texas hill country. Her coops were to die for. Hubby is a real carpenter type and the coops were really really nice. It was very hot. Good BBQ, lots of nice folks, mostly from Austin. We left about 4ish after pics and drove 3 hours home. Long day.
No chicken sales. Evidently can't do that in Texas at a casual event. But Carla was kind enough to give me 5 eggs from her brahma hens/ blue wheaten ameraucana crosses. One light brahma one dark brahma. Should be big blue egg layers.
There was a fellow their documenting everything, so I expect some pics up on the Texas Chickenstock thread.
