We could make pre-arranged swaps or sales. But you couldn't just bring a bunch of birds hoping to sell or swap them. I didn't see any going on, but they probably did out by the parked cars!

Mary! Those keets are adorable!

the seller (a fellow BYCer) was doing some really amazing breeding with them- skin and feathers, so much so that you could almost forgive them for being NNs.

- Now I run for cover

Mary they are adorable!!! When I get out of the city I am going to get me some! Probably not lavender ones, I hear that they attract owls around here.

ok, it's official, I am not buying any eggs from down south after March
hmm.png
I think it just gets too hot and fertility always drops, not to mention the temp extremes. I have had NO luck with any eggs from down south since April

Mary--I candeled day 10 and I have 3 growing:-) the other 4 were clear-but Im so happy to have 3 I know for sure 2 but the 3rd was hmmmmmmm..not 100% on it... I love broody's I havent worried once with her-shes has been perfect! I think I might say hose it next year for an incubator and pray for broodies!!!!

yah Im sorry:-( the 4 were crystal clear no blood rings or anything-I know it doesnt help but Id preferr to see clears than blood rings because I get mad when they stop growing and I don't know why! Im sure the eggs were fertile just shipping did a number on them??

ok, I checked all the eggs tonight, I have 5 light sussex due 6/2. 2? silkies, 2 marans, 4 columbian wyandottes due 6/14, and setting tonight- my final batch of 14 blr wyandottes, 6 white wyandottes and 2 bonus hoping white wyandottes, could be cochin x wyandotte.
maybe this explains why i had a 12 # wyandotte hen last winter in the coop- she was large and very heavy but not as large as what this guy I got the eggs from shows for wyandottes- those birds are huge!, made my hatchery brahmas look small.
these will be due 6/21. then the incubator is going off- I know I said that before, but truely is done.
I was able to buy a beautiful silkie at the show yesterday- really nice and a big white wyandotte hen. she's the same age as my oldest chicks and at least one size bigger then them. if nothing else, she will give my project birds size and very good type.
