Wow Nat, I just read through that bankruptcy thread. That's rough. And I think Katy knew she was wrong about the cabin, but a lot of people just can't suck it up and say I'm sorry, I was wrong, I didn't have all the facts. I can see from your comments, that you have never lived beyond your means and are in this situation due to circumstances beyond your control. Katy just seemed to get more and more defensive. I truely hope she never gets in that situation herself. I wish you all the best and hope you get some relief soon. The emotional toll is the worst. It can ruin lives, marriages and families. I don't know what your problems were with your DH (and don't want to), but I am so glad you worked it out and your family is still together. My DD is now going through a divorce, even though her DH "forgave" her indescretion, she is using it as an excuse to leave a loveless marriage. I wish she would wait untill the little ones are a little older. Her youngest is extremely sensitive emotionally, and I'm so afraid of what this will do to him. He's only 8. She says she's been miserable for 10 years. I said can't you just be miserable for a few more years for the sake of the kids?
Oh well. On a lighter note, my DGD won her class both days at the dog show this week-end. She was so thrilled. I was so proud of her. Here's a pic:
I also love the way eveyone on this thread "had your back" and your answers to the flaming were eloquent and mature and understanding. You got your point across without stooping to their level. That's the way people should speak to one another. JMHO
anyone been screwed on eggs this year? This was a bad year for me it seems
First were the 3 batches of sumatra that NOTHING hatched and the one I did help out was deformed...and died. Second I ordered one type of d'Anver and got a variety, and possibly only 1 of what I wanted and some didn't even have 2 (one porcelain I think and 1 self blue) so even if I were lucky to have a variety in gender there is really no chance to even set up breeding pairs(still haven't heard back from the breeder on those). I waited ALL day on a pip, it's the one b/b/s bantam ameraucana that developed....the others were infertile, yolks were still perfectly round in the top of the egg and I cracked them at 12 days, nothing. So the one that did develop pipped and just hatched. IT'S A MIX!!!! It is mostly black with a reddish tinge to it's head, saw that and thought uh-oh, then I saw the feathered shanks
. I don't know when I am going to get ANYWHERE with any of my projects if I can't get the darn birds I need! I probably have over 50 black ameraucana from 5 breeders and now what
