Interesting. Do those of you who have Wyandottes find the roosters to be less dominant? Caffeine increases sperm motility, cool! Maybe Starbucks funded that study, but how to get the rooster to drink its mochachino?????

Hoppy, I have to say though, I had no problem with your eggs fertility! I just suck at hatching. However, I'm still working at it. I may have to upgrade my incubator. I have to wonder if my elevation here factors in. I'm a mile high. I leave the vents open to compensate.

I think my rooster carries single comb as I have one baby here that is and all of my adults are rosecombs. my rooster is very non-aggressive but he's only 1 yr old. loves the ladies tho.
how about ground up coffee beans, you'd have a super hyper roo.- that might be too much.

you could tube feed her some gatoraide if you have a feeding tube.

If she is dehydrated, some of her electrolytes may already be elevated. I'll keep my fingers crossed for her.

Current hatching adventure:

It is now 26 days since setting 10 shipped peafowl eggs.
Peafowl are meant to take 28 days but in southern states tend to take 26 days for some reason.

All made it to lockdown!!

7.00pm: 5 out 2 obviously pipped

2 white

, 3 sort of India blue pattern but speckled so could be anything. The experts will let me know.
One of the pipped ones was the first to do so 24 hours ago, and has not progressed beyond breaking he shell, so not sure if I should intervene. It has a day or so to figure out what to do so I am gonna sit it out

I got mine (3

) from Llyons in chula vista and picked them up in person.
Llyons are not the cheapest but will match an any competitor. Infact they gave me he top of the line one for the competitors advertised price for the basic model. The basic model is actually just as functional as the advanced model as I don't use the computer monitoring part!!!!

They have a 49 egg capacity one out now but it is expensive

. If only I can find an excuse to buy it for work........

Charmed, you are too too funny! And about food, she always has the hugest crop at night, and she's the smallest one!

She looks real good this morning, complaining, interest in food. She's sitting upright, and is nice and fluffy. I guess she'll need a diaper now. \\
Thanks for the support you all. I really needed it.

So I need to build a new coop/pen in all day shade. My next project.
