No way, They'd be dessicated by the 2nd week here. I'm actually increasing my humidity. Running it in the mid 40s leaves my chicks shrink wrapped, and that's with increasing the humidity to 65ish at lockdown. I do live in the high desert.

I really need to buy a gram scale and shoot for 12% wt loss during incubation.

Yes, I weighed my eggs for my last 2 hatches, and it seemed to really help. The Brinsea manual really recommends it. I had 36 eggs in it (mostly bantams) and just marked 12 to weigh. Keeping the humidity at 45% seemed to be the best for me.

in maine, I have found in spring, I don't have to add any water, due to so much humity from all the rain we get and later in the summer and fall, I do have to add water.

The Rcom I bought holds humidity like a rock, I just need to figure out how to set it to the right levels so I get a decent hatch, especially with breeds like marans.

I was a mad woman I tell you. I think I may host one in the future, Nifty is asking for volunteers to help out becuase they are going to start doing these once a month.

I love the eggs Nat, they are so pretty. I remember when I was little my mom did some like that for an Easter tree. I forgot all about it until I saw the ones you posted on your auction.
