Brabanters lay white eggs

Opps you are right. Too early in the morning. I realized that after I sent it and got distracted.

Barbaranter is white. Nats is light tan.

The barnvelder laid a similar terracotta egg (but I gave her away (sniff) to my friend coz the raccoons had got the polish that I had been growing for her for 4 months).
Anyways I was so excited to see another redish-brown egg.

So the second lot of silkies I got before the price went insane are due today and I have a pip!!
11 are on lockdown.

i'd have to say Phage, mine don't lay reddish brown eggs. mine are more pinkish tan even from the first eggs. I have one that is giving me a dusty pink/brown egg but I think that may be my white wyandotte (her sister that was killed laid a similar colored egg)
I'll post a box of what's been laid this week. it consists of marans, and wyandottes. some new laid today of the wyandottes I'd say by the color. I have americanas in there but no eggs yet (or I should say no blue eggs so I am assuming they are pures and are not laying yet.)

ok, now I'm embarrassed. I took out the box of eggs from the fridge to take a picture, and I did that. my son was talking with me and touching the dusty pink egg (left front egg), then it looked kind of weird, like it had finger shapes on it. then longer it sat on the counter, the strangest thing happened, it turned reddish brown.
in the first picture, fresh out of the fridge and in the 2nd picture the egg in the top of the carton is the same egg that is missing from the left slot in the front- what a difference when they warm up!(the egg above that empty spot is a marans egg as are a few of the others)

Barbarella is a white movie character-

I believe Barbar is an elephant is children's books-

And yes, a Brabanter hen lays white eggs-

I'm lost about the Barbaranter.

That is cool.
Thanks hoppy - that is very interesting.
I do remember that some of your eggs had a light dusky pink color now that I think about it. Will post a pic of this one when I get a mo.

I believe it is isabella. Which is what the diluted fawn Dobermans were called. Useless trivia.
