bunting almost done (2 actually) just need to buy a zipper then they will be finished.

I candled all but 8 of my special silkie eggs- quite disappointed- of the 16 I did candle- only 4 are good. I have 8 left to do tonight-hmmf
guess I will have to troll for more eggs.
I will update with a final count tonight. suddenly these special eggs have gotten a whole lot more expensive and not so special.

and to top it all off, one of my marans is missing. chickies staying locked up from now on.

day 7. not looking good. I have slight more that didn't develope and the others were broken aircells.
not looking forward to candling those last 8, I probably will be just as disappointed.

I feel for you!!!! Im on day 4 tonight too soon to candle-I need to get rid of some out of bator it only fits 42 and there is 52 in! So Come Tuesday Ill candle and pull all clears

So, things seemed to go ok. As she put it she's going to call me about price. I guess that's a good sign. If we can sell this one we will then rent the other one until the mortgage is finalized, or until we have a mortgage!

Oh MAN I love stress... you should have seen the 4 of us last night wiring in lights, cutting trim, painting, we looked like ants all over a hill until after midnight. Insanity. Well now she's seen it, and as they say the rest will be history. Ofcourse now that she HAS seen it, I guess I COULD hatch eggs LOL. In a small batch anyway...

I think I have a chicken problem. I tried to take a nap after she left, all I managed to have were nightmares about was my coop rotting out, the chickens getting loose and a racoon the size of a great dane in the yard and then some woman releasing other birds in my yard and me screaming "biosecurity! biosecurity!" yup... I have a problem...

Got my MFC eggs yesterday. Set 15 eggs this morning. Am trying a few different thing this time. First of all, I took the class to be a poultry tester last month (VERY interesting class), and they really stressed the importance of sanitizing hatching eggs. So, even though the eggs werer perfectly clean, I dipped them all in 10% bleach for 30 secs ( 105 degrees temp) Then after I set them, I'm not turning on the automatic turner until tomorrow. Something I read or heard somewhere--Dave Holderread maybe? Anyway, I'll keep everyone posted.

I'm so happy with these eggs. Lynne, from Wingshadows, writes the name of the Roo and the date laid on every one.

Phage, if you are here, how did your hatch of Silkies from Kelar do? I'm going to snipe that auction in about an hour

The ones with really high vaults sem to have problems hatching.
