Lovins, good luck on the bid. With my last house, I made an offer, they counteroffered, then I said why don't we just split the difference. Got it. I was lucky. I bought in a buyer's market, and sold in a seller's market.

I set my wheaten maran pullet eggs and just as well because she had only been laying for a few days when she got STOLEN (by the guy I gave the rooster to the week before). I got 2 chicks out of 4 eggs.

I worry, what if something happens and I didn't hatch what I had. Maybe I'll wait for a couple more then do it.

Where have I been? Well, I've been on the farrier MB because I had a problem with my horse's feet. Farriers can be idiots down here, so I am on this farrier board alot. Then I've had saddle problem. I bought this saddle for my mule, it cost 3k twenty years ago, I got it for $225.00. I thought it felt a little tight, so I measured it , and it was 1 1/2 inches smaller than I was told when I bought it. Kinda like your size 7 panties turning out to be a 5 1/2! So off to the Dressage MB I've been getting tips on saddles. Of course, then there was this big World Equestrian Games horse thing and I was drawn into that on the dressage mb. Then this member went to it in Kentucky, and while she was gone, animal control took all her horses. That thread went on for 900 posts before they locked it. OMG!!! What arguments about why it happened and we still don't know why. I think it was in Maine. Then I had to keep up with my riding buddy on a gaited horse MB. And search the web and ebay for another good saddle that's cosmetically challenged for a bargain
Then I spend alot of time at the barn, I had them at home til last February, and didn't ride. So I moved them to this barn 10 minutes away, and I better take advantage of it because it's costing me 700 bucks a month! But now I have a social life too, LOL. And something to get me out of the house.

So I've taken a break from chicken related stuff for a bit, but have been missing it and you all lately. Looks like the winter egg auction frenzy is about to start. But I have 8 roos right now, so I'm busting at the seams.
