I agree with both of you they are just birds-that we adore-me I Love to have really nice ones and if others like them too-well they can too through the auctions. I had birds for over a year before auctioning eggs-the auctions just help me have the birds I want is all. If the egg selling stops-so is my addiction lol...I couldn't afford to buy the kind of eggs I want without selling mine:) None of my birds are perfect-shoot I wouldnt know a perfect bird if I saw one:-( Im with lovins I need to look at photos words cant help me..LOL

i was over 2 years before i offered any eggs....still wont auction off any i haven't seen the results of first....the best part of all of it to be honest is being able to spend some time out in the barn with my kids....also nice to have someplace to hide when kathy gets ticked at me!!

It was 20 years before I sold my first hatching eggs. Now people can we get back on topic, how incredibly sweet and good looking Brahmas are. Resistance is futile.

Neither snipers frequent this thread...i was so busy trying to bid on one I lost the other, by the time I flipped from Kelar's to Sebright/ Little Ameraucana's auction it was to late.

Kind of funny, besides I really wanted the eggs from Kelar. Maybe next time. I have kind of missed the excitement of last minute bidding wars.

Yup, almost as good looking as Cochins.

I'd do that cross then breed a barred offpsring(preferably male, if keeping only one bird) back to a pure partridge.. should get some barred partridges from this, they will look a lot like creles... much more so than a barred brown red or a "leaky" barred. This will be a great plan if partridges already have good or excellent type...

Barred x partridge will give chicks that will seem to start out barred and eventually get some color on hackles/saddles on roos, hackles and breast on hens. Right, no duckwing patch in this cross.

The partridge I have are pretty good for partridge (that variety is like chasing a dream). So I'll cross the Tom Barred roo with the Jamie Partridge Pullets. Should look decent type wise!

Good luck! I'd love to see pics if you happen to follow through with F1 x partridge....

This is the guy with the brown reds. Maybe he'd be interested in a trade or swap or something.

Speaking of....I'm looking for SQ LF light pullets. Would you happen to have any? Will you be at the National? I'm a huge Brahma fan whose been unable to get really nice ones for a couple of years.

The only light pullets I have are some splash(blue) lights. I probably will make it up Sat. to visit some. Still messing around with this knee I had worked on this summer, not up for pounding around on that cement all weekend. I am in need of a really good light male myself, to put over the splash gals. There are ussually some good lights there if you get there early enough, or pre arrange something with the breeder.
