Cool, Lynda! How do you do that? I'd love to set one up!

PS - Ws disappointed with HP7 - they left out a lot of things that I thought made the book so good. I realize they can't put in everything, but with this broken into two movies, I thought it would include more than it did. We'll see how the next one goes, but I could see from the trailer that the last fight seen has already been changed - not good. Still, pretty cool to see Harry and Ron with stubble!

Mary, didn't read the books so it worked for me! We watch HP at home all the time so I only know the movies! DD read the books but I'm not much into that kind of reading. Do love the movies though! Plus it was a nice family afternoon out!

As for the camera, we ran 300 ft of wire out to the barn so we could have a good picture! It's a Panasonic Camera and we love it! In the daylight you can see the otherside of that coop where the girls lay! It's nice to be able to keep an eye on them especially in the cold weather! Plus my friends like to check in on "the girl" too!

Lynda - let me tell you, as a mother, you will love these books! You cannot help but feel for this poor child as he struggles. And they are so much more fulfilling! I would not have picked them up at all, except I was working as the librarian at my daughter's school and I figured maybe I should know what was in them. Boy, was I hooked! The first chapter or two in book one is a little slow, because of all the description, but ever since then, I was right there at midnight with my pre-ordered ticket to get my latest copy! I would fight with my girls over them until I finished. (I won because I paid) Do try them - I guarantee you'll love them! I have the movies on in my house on a regular basis. We did the HP Adventure, with movies 5 and 6 right before 7 - my DD had to tell me to stop quoting the whole movie.

OK, here are some pics of the new Silkies we brought home from Bob's. Fred and his girl are missing, but there are pics of Fred in Bob's egg auction.

To all of you sikie fans- Are B/B/S silkies a good choice for showing in 4-h? I have never done the 4-h thing but my daughter wants to show chickens and a banty were what was recommended for a beginner. My 8 year old asked for silkies for Christmas so i think I am sold and am going to get a set of hatching eggs to try again. We lost her babies last month (Kelar's stock), as my hubby let them free range the backyard and they disappeared. She was not a happy girl.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Do silkies do okay in the rainy environment? Will I need to build an indoor playland for them in my garage for the winter?

Yes, when your baby asks for chickens for Christmas you melt. I admit it, she has me wrapped, lol.
