Wow! I bet they went nuts!

My crew is going to get chopped kale and cottage cheese today. I've made them hot oatmeal with raisins milk wheat germ oil and pecans before, but haven't made them a stew! You got me thinking along the lines of rice and stuff and just putting it all in a big soup pot to cook...........I do it for Bill and Mags, don't know why I haven't thought to do it for the girls, yet.

I also seem to have a really cute splash sizzle cockeral that has yet to crow, and hopefully will remain the strong but silent type. He is adorable and tiny and I have named him Andre the Giant. Seems to navigate the big girls just fine, but if he even looks at them cross eyed they kick his butt, so he is extremely diplomatic around them and so far hasn't said a word..............he's about 8 mos old now

IDK mine are just sort of cruising around majestically.........I haven't even seen them practicing in the nest boxes and they haven't squatted. I suppose they are considering the issue.

havent seen mine squat either-but hey Im ok with that they got a real treat this am in -4 degrees. I made a chicken stew last night

1 lb of fresh spinach
2 lbs of pork
10 eggs
left over peas-stuffing

threw that all in the processor with some milk-heated it all up-wallah-big hot protein packed breakfast:-) that was for the BLRW-OE-and brahma pen

the others have been getting kitty kibbles and left overs everynight anyway
I have some serious work in there tomorrow with setting up the big penned brooder-Im due to hatch some splits BLRW tomorrow:-)

Nat, your stew has eggs in it?? is this for you or the birds?

I didn't have happy silkie news, I have 3 out of 18 hatch and then 1 died.

I am finished hatching until it warms up. it was -1 degrees this morning and I had to go to the airport to ship out a bird! at least it's going where it's warmer.

I have always had a hard time hatching silkies, too. I expect mine problem was the post office. All my silkies turned into crowing roos and had to leave.

I've has much better luck hatching sizzles, and they are very cute, too.

well I call it a stew-its really thick-so I cook the eggs first as well as everything else then throw it all in processor:-) so its really easy for them to eat and digest with me worrying about impacted crops and such:-) I ran out of rice-otherwise that mixture would have gone into about 2-3 lbs of cooked rice too....

He's really starting to make me wonder about this pants thing! It's not like I am home with him, I'm at work! I think he's taking the vacation thing a litte too far!
