When you all were talkin about warm treats for your chickies, I remembered what I used to do years ago; I got a big bag of alfalfa cubes from the feed mill when I picked up feed today, then I throw a few in with the oats and left overs that I cook up with them( along with all the frozen eggs).

It gives them some of the greens they miss when they are out free-ranging. It also smells wonderful while it's cooking up. You only need a few cubes, cause they really expand a lot. So the bag of cubes (15.65 here) lasts a long time.

They love it. Helps keep egg yolk color nice and dark yellow too.
