I have been wondering about what is the largest chicken/chicken breed and started a thread.
If any of you guys/gals would like to chime in that would be great
Thanks!!
Ok, I think final count on my Nat OE would be 6 blue and 7 black. I candled the remaining eggs - two have aircells, no movement or peeping. One is all dark. Egg bomb? Leaving those three in until tomorrow just to see. One had a very very faint peeping so I opened it
. That chickie is still recovering in my recovery room bator but I think it will be just fine - doesn't appear to be deformed but we shall see if s/he makes it. Wasn't shrink wrapped and the yolk was absorbed, but it was definitely fading. I know, helping is bad, but I'm ready to cull if I have to.
. After getting out, chickie was peeping up a storm and is stumbling around like a normal chick so far.
One chickie is def a ROO ROO. He's got a folded over (single) comb! Hahaha. Oh, and the chickie that pipped it's head out and could not get out earlier (Mr. Grumpy) has a little boo boo on his beak/comb - I think he must have injured it rubbing it up against the sharp side of his pip hole.
