I'm still pretty new to this whole chicken thing... this is the first time I've raised any. I noticed today that my chickens have damp feathers entangled with shavings stuck on their sides under their wings. I think there's a problem with my waterer getting crooked and leaking, which I can fix, but I have no idea how they got like this. Should I give them baths? Comb them? Is this dangerous to their health?

They have shavings in their feathers probably because they're taking dust baths in the shavings. Mine do that. If you supply them with sand mixed with peat moss (some people put in DM, too) they'll love you forever. =)
