As a boredom buster, I’m hiding pieces of treats around the house. The dog can be dead asleep in my bed, but I say, “find,” and he’s in the hallway starting the search. I have to say, it’s fun watching him work. Despite the other dogs I’ve had that could sniff out treats, he’s the only one that leaps from the floor, over the back of the couch, over to the recliner... I think beagles are part cat!

I kind of wanted a beagle to use for rabbit and squirrel hunting. But I was over ruled and we were given this mutt by our Daughter for Christmas.

I am hoping I can train her to hunt squirrels and rabbits, but it’s doubtful. The poodle retriever cross seems pretty much to be a foofoo.

You have a hard enough time keeping track of your turkeys. I doubt that you could keep track of a beagle.

This is a real concern in the swamp! If they get overly excited and get on a rabbit scent and take off, they could be coyote or wolf dinner.
