Shaw and the Hound

Not that they can't play together..
But my goal is to actually be able to keep him focused on me and not go bat 💩 over seeing a dog.
Maybe a structured walk through the park first.
Then reward with the dog park.

When it warms up of course. 🤪
Bring him up to play with Haylee, but know Haylee will run him to the ground with her youth and exuberance.

I kind of have a play, eat, sleep routine with Mason in the evening.
I keep his toys in a box in his kennel, he rarely takes anything out of there himself.
In the evening time after the birds have been put up and we go inside for the night, I take him in there and he picks out a couple toys to play with for a while before he has his dinner.

Yesterday I was not feeling well I had been sniffling and sneezing all day and ended up with quite the headache.
So I was just sitting in the recliner watching some TV when he came inside after supervising J put the birds up.
He goes to his toy box and brings out a ball and puts in my lap and Waits for me to get up and play.
When I didn't get up he went back to the toy box got his moose and brought it to me.
I played tug with him just a little bit while sitting in the chair but I didn't get up.
He thought that was boring so he put the moose down and went and got another toy and put in my lap. I told him no and threw it in the floor.
Talk about sad puppy dog eyes.🤣
It was then he seemed to decide something was wrong with me.
He gets up on the chair next to me and starts sniffing me up and down and all over.
When he got to my face there was a long pause as he sniffed my nose.
He gave me a little kiss and then he snuggled up beside me in the chair and did not get back up to play with toys eat his dinner or even go back outside until it was time to go to bed.

Coincidence or true empathy?

He was feeling sorry for himself and wanted you to comfort him for being such a lousy lazy worthless playmate.

Wrong, he was trying to comfort you. You could probably get him certified as a companion dog.
Nah, I ain't all about all that emotional support animal buisness. No offense to anyone who truly needs a service dog.
I think people ruin the reputation of real service dogs by registering their dogs as such when it's not necessary.
I don't need to have him with me 24/7. 😝

He thinks you do.
Sometimes he does and sometimes he don't.
He's moody.
Depends on the weather and how much exercise he's already had.
He cracked me up one day when we had been out and about all day. He was all comfy in the chair and I picked his leash up off the table to go hang it up.
He got up and ran to his bed like oh heck no...I am done today. 😂

Today when I got home from the store I carried one load in and I left the hatch up on the explorer because I had a couple more sacks. Poor Mason thought that meant I was taking him somewhere.
Nope sorry buddy.
Later this evening when we went to go get toys out for our usual evening play.. he didn't want to get a toy. He kept on rattling his leashes and his harness hanging there by his kennel. Sad! Lol.
