Does anyone else with a black dog have trouble getting good pictures of them?


Here is one I just took of Haylee being all sad because I won’t let her be outside. It’s too cold and bitter today. If she goes out she is crying to come back in in less than 5 minutes.

I am too busy doing nothing to spend my day letting her in and out.

I had to edit the picture to get her eyes to show, then edited a couple more times to keep the picture from being washed out.

I need help taking pictures of black critters.

Yes. The struggle is real.
Same way with the black ducks too.

Use a flash.

When I use the flash on my phone it gives them the red eye.

Or, it makes him blink and look away or just reflects too much for a nice picture.

Flash is probably too strong if it's giving red eye. Most good photo programs have a red eye removal tool.

Yesterday Mason was acting strange. Pacing, whining, running outside but he would get out there look around and just make a nervous sounding bark.
This morning I found out what is up.
He bolted out the door like a rocket unexpectedly.. I looked out just in time to see two red foxes tearing across the back lot. No more nervous bark.. he give them an ear full. (As well as the whole neighborhood)
He is now on the lookout in the direction they went.

He is gonna be miffed when he finds out this is not a toy box to keep all his sticks in.
