Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

What’s the call eggs taste like Shaw? Do they compare to the piglets?
Oh no. . piggy eggs are yum yum the steak of all eggs.
I found the call eggs to be dry and just kinda had a funny whang to them compared to a chicken egg. BUT i may have cooked them too long. I have mixed them in with chicken eggs and couldn't tell the difference. And I've baked with them without issue.
And it's probably partially just in my head after seeing those tiny babies come out of those eggs:hmm
I hope I still like the Cayuga eggs after I see them babies!:gig

I think for once, I'd take Ralphies advice.

In my opinion, its really up to you at this point. I dont think it would hurt to wipe the larger chunks of yolk off.
Thank you. I had already plain water wiped them a bit. I'm really glad I double checked with the seller though, no idea what bleach on top of peroxide would have done. I set them tonight.

Your new drake is really interestingly colored! Very pretty.

My goose eggs were wiped down(by the seller) with water and peroxide. Where I tried to damp wipe the yolk I could still feel bloom.

So what to do?

I would wash them (bet you never thought I would say that) in bleach and water to get the peroxide off and the yolk...

Matter of fact I would rinse, wipe, dunk, wipe, rinse, wipe, dunk, wipe with clean towel, rinse, put them in drying rack......

That would take off every trace of bloom, isn't that generally to be avoided? (I did set them this evening)

Thank you, I'm trying to learn all I can.
