I always worry that the Muscovy mamas will peel the skin off our faces if we dare to touch a duckling or check a nest.
Protective mamas!
Here is the one that hatched out 3 bantam chicks. Look at her get mad at my kid! And he was standing back to get the photo.
She is a good mama!!

@CayugaJana
I never answered your questions the other day. .
1. Duck and Jane are doing GREAT! They are fitting in nicely now not being picked on or anything. They seem very happy to have more room to run around. They haven't gotten brave enough to really swim with everyone else.. They sit and wait for the opportunity to get in when no-one else is in the pond.
2. Gimpy duck is just gimpy duck. I really really need to find him a home
He gets around pretty good haven't seen him actually lose the use of his leg in a long time. Still has that one joint and leg bigger than the other. I guess it's just going to stay that way
He is psycho. Freaks out any time you come near him. I hate to have to cull him but I'm wondering if he freaks out cause maybe he has some pain still in that leg? It's hard to say for sure.
Glad Duck and Jane are fitting in. I think it’s harder on us sometimes to watch them learn how to fit in, but they eventually get there.
And poor Gimpy. Maybe list him as a special needs duck, someone may want to make a house duck or him, or something like that?
Meet Raleigh & Ling Ling!As expected, they are really young. Their wing feathers aren’t even grown in yet & they still have baby fuzz.
I’m guessing 4wks based on what Mako looked like at that age. They’re really skittish too! When we brought Mako home, she wanted to be with us every second. These guys hate me, but they are soooo cute!!! They decided they were gonna spend the night in their pool.
I forgot how hard it is to teach ducks to go in the coop.

We brought home a bunny too. They called her Thumper Girl at the HS... We haven’t renamed her yet.
