Already!?! Wow! Can't wait to see them!

This one is Jane. She got brood y the end of last month. Checked her eggs tonight and it looks like it might not happen till Monday. Guess we shall see. . I think I feel a stomach virus coming on. . . or a sore throat. . or maybe I'll get food poisoning Sunday night

So tomorrow is lockdown and ive got one duckling that looks too small, still alive but hasnt filled the egg like the others

Im wondering what the outcome will be, late hatcher or quitter..?

Shipped eggs? I doubt it will hatch with that much of a reduction in CAM development. I've had eggs with CAMs up to this much undeveloped hatch, but anything more than that quit. Just my experience so far with them.

I am currently running a few experiments to see if I can get a higher percentage of shipped eggs to have complete CAMs and so far the results are interesting and rather promising too. I've seen some offhand statements that it's related to turning, or because of shipping damage, or because of this, or because of that—but no studies or evidence.

I hope you can. I've had miserable luck with finding anything on the CAM as relates to its development and hatching. Unless I am missing something in that article it looks like it's mainly about its use for other experiments.

Theyre not shipped eggs, I'm very proud of that fact haha. Took me a long time to aquire two pairs of calls and when they started laying it was quite an achievement for me. I did have a bit of crazy humidity in the beginning because i was running two separate clutches in one incubator and one went into lockdown, but these aircells looked fine by lockdown so I'm unsure if that makes a difference..?

I expect it to quit, it really is smaller than the others and i didnt see much movement yesterday. Just wondering what everyone thought, I'll keep yall updated.

On a better note, my dad is building me a new duck pen for my birthday

I just saw the explanation of what the CAM is.
I think maybe it was @Pyxis that had some good info about it?
