Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

Pics
I have 2 turkeys due to hatch next weekend, and another the week after that. Think I'll have any trouble with them bonding a week or so apart?

Not a bit. They will bond with you also. They imprint real easily.
I am glad to see you join the good-hearted club with me. Join us on the turkey thread. There are a few there that are even smarter than me......not many but a few......

I visit there, just don't post much.... Yet. :D
These are from Aurora. The few eggs that the post office didn't ruin.

I did hatch and raise one blue slate hen a few years ago. Couldn't find a mate for her, so I eventually sold her. My neighbor misses her greetings, so these are sorta for him too.

Ahh. That one turkey @Auroradream26 dream has in amazing bird the way it wants it's cuddling.

I had 2 like that, but the ones I have now are indifferent. Other than they follow me all around. I am their personal meal on wheels truck, as far as they are concerned.

Oh and they sit on the deck all day, which bothers my wife.....I am thinking it will be harder for me to feed them on the deck when she retires next year......

I love her reaction to them on the deck...She tells people " I can't understand why they want to sit on the deck all day?"...

I agree, " I can't understand it either".

Ok. .sorry to leave y'all hanging! It's been a busy week and I lost the one survivor from the broody hatch.

Poor little baby. I got these pictures on Wednesday I think. Thursday morning it didn't seem very active. I had to go to work and when I came home I could tell it wasn't any better. Ran out and got some supplies to try and save it and when I got back it was gone.

I am resisting the urge to candle to check for internal pip s as I am already fighting to keep my humidity up. Our weather here has turned cold and snowing and humidity in the house is running about 35% incubator humidity is about 65% right now after refilling the wells this morning. I may add a sponge tonight so it will stay up tomorrow while I am gone to work.

In incubator news. . I have 7 eggsies on lock down. Today is day 25.
And I will have to go to work in the morning blah. I should've planned my hatch date better! Hopefully these will be strong enough to pop out on their own.
