Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

Wow.. That one was really in there tight. How is the other one doing?
It showed me a big yawn and stuck it's tongue out at me. I may cut outta here early to keep an eye on it if at all possible.

I have one I think is heading that way. Not sure how to know and react to that problem though. I see no movement and it's full.
I saw movement and peeping this morning and thought it would surely either pip or I could open it at morning break. . if it had just held on a little longer! No way to really know cause I don't know when it internally pipped for sure it was so cramped in there.

Oh good! I hope you can go home early to be there when it hatches!:fl

Minor good news here, while my iffy egg still seems dead my iffy runner up moved. The one that seemed packed in there wrong, now seems to have a bit of space to move anyway. So looking like 7 going into lockdown confirmed alive.

Now to decide when to lock down! I tried turning some of them but they roll back. :idunno

View attachment 1354505 oiled and peeled back the membrane hoping by chance I was wrong and it was just being still. . no luck. Wow it just didn't have any space left at all. Safety hole didn't help I guess because it couldn't extend its bill beyond the membrane. The tip was literally right up against the inside of the shell poor baby :(
BUT it's a risk opening them up also so at least it's a learning experience.
:hit dang it. Darn if you do, darned if you don’t.

How are your littles doing btw? I bet they're getting big...
They are bigger than this now. They are doing great. It’s crazy how differently they act towards you when you hatch them and they see you first.:love
