Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

We worry about them being able to get in and out and that little one just hopped up the side and out, and right back in with no problem! :D
They amaze me with how they can jump. I think As long as other ducks don't drown them or they get hung up on something they can get in and out just fine. I do need to top off the water tomorrow though. That makes it easier.

Oh, I cracked up the humidity on my 8 eggs left from Malibu's abandoned nest. I'm still not expecting many to hatch, but we'll see. And maybe I'll try to get the silly girl to adopt them, if any hatch. She's been a real biotch lately. :p
:fl
I just candle d my incubator eggs. Looks like only 3 are developing:eek:
Dang it. Ralphie must not have been getting around as much as I thought he was.

I heard that about Ralphie :lau

But seriously, I'm sorry to hear so few are growing. :(

I sold off several of my serama hens and pullets, and was able to get rid of extra roosters, so I was happy to have only my smallest, best looking male in that pen. But I set a bunch of eggs, and it's still early, but i see veining in some, but quite a few clear. Now I'm wondering if the older rooster was the big fertilizer. I used to get near 100% fertility. Maybe with no competition, he isn't quite as active. :hmm

What's with these boys not doing their job??? :rant
Congrats on the sell! My extra roos hanging around here are reaching the end of the line. Freezer Camp will be open soon! :D

:sick:sick:sick:sick:sick:sick:sick:sick:sick Daphne did another poo, this time right on the edge of her nest, and it stunk like putrid dead dux stewed in chicken manure for a week in the upper 90's.
As I tried to flick it away with a stick, she began EATING it! What the heck?!!! She was slurping it up and flicking it around. I nearly threw up, and I did bend over and gag it was so bad. Is this normal ducky behaviour for a broody duck to ' clean up after herself/ get rid of the evidence' ?????
Sorry if I am baffling and annoying you guys with my strange duck posts
