Daphne escaped her box today, I was at work all day, and she wasn't given any water by the others, the poor thing. Her eggs were cool. I hope the babies weren't killed!
One exploded yesterday, it was rotten.......badly

Oh no. That doesn't sound good.

I'm so upset! I just candled all 8 eggs, and saw life in only 2, maybe 3. The rest are floaty dark blobs without movement or real veining. All my ducklings are dead! Stupid duck! So disappointed! My ducklings Completely heartbroken, they had only a week or so to go!
I think I should just give the live ones to my broody hen, because I'm afraid this might happen again and kill the survivor(s). Daphne has never done this before, she has been doing a good job but.........what should I do?
There's little chance those eggs are alive. I wish I hadn't gone to work today so I could have monitored the situation.
Should I give the eggs to my broody hen? She has one chicken egg under her,, somehow she lost the other one, totally ticks me off. It must have been kicked out, and I dug around in the nesting box and the shavings and couldn't find nothin'. All my babies are dying!

Aww that's sad I'm sorry. They must have been left to cool a long time? I really wonder why they do this sometimes.
