Don't you hate having to keep them contained? I know I do, and same thing, when I'm away somewhere they don't get out. I pretty much have to sit there with them while they graze right now.

Ya. I have a big lot they could play on too. But too many dangers without a fence.

I'm so sad for you, there's something about ducks for sure.

I'm worried every night, recently watched 5 racoons pop across the street right into my yard. Saw possum and even a Fisher in the driveway. My anti dig skirts are exposed somewhere most mornings these days. I fear for my chickens the most, water birds are locked in a barn stall at night.

Haha, sorry, after my friend was ripped off and sold a pair of appleyards as snowies I always make the distinction when I see one called the other.

Giveaway is eye stripes A snowy cannot have eye stripes. And they look very different as ducklings too.

It wasn't so much that the breeder made a mistake, it's that she sold her the wrong color and then absolutely refused to admit it, even in the face of overwhelming evidence and everyone else telling them that the pair was appleyard, not snowy.

He's a Turkish Kangal. One of the livestock guardian breeds. This will be a whole new thing for me, much to learn.

That’s pretty neat. I’ve never heard of that kind of dog before. I always feel better when my dog is outside with them.

Sold a pair of calls today that were Janes babies, and zombie eye. Got 22 bucks. Not a profit by any means but they went to a good home so I am happy.
My friend that took them to sell knows the lady that bought them and she said little Z would have his own space with his own girls without other drakes to pick on him. lucky duckie!
Now I've gotta figure out if gimpy is going to be ok and I can find try to find a home for he or she. . or integrate with my others if it be a girl.
My next duck ing problem is. . .
We have pretty much decided after Jana stopped by to confirm. . rain is a boy..so now I have three drake and two ducks.
The boys are still all keeping to themselves for now but I know that won't last.

I don’t think you will have a problem finding the cayuga males a home. They are beautiful!

Wanna know what's really funny? Mini appleyards in the US aren't actually appleyard in color. They're snowy. They were created using the wrong color, lol. Most people in the UK now just call the variety we have in the US Silver Bantam ducks (silver being what they call snowy) because they have real mini appleyards there that are actually appleyard in color.
