IDK what the hell I’m talking about. It was just a thought. I am a feather hoarder x2. I love tedious projects and was looking at a new catalog this morning and saw a ‘fly tiers special.’ Yeah, cheesy, I know! It was just a thought...Do you mean trout flies?
I don't have one tied up right now but using these ingredients (pretend it's all black with chartreuse legs) makes a great sinking fly. I normally fish top water but if the fish don't want top water then I've caught more fish on this simple design than anything.Thank ya. Nope I don’t drink maxwell house. That stuff is terrible. I went on a coffee can collecting binge to make little redneck charcoal hand heaters while duck hunting. I just saved that one for feathers and tails.
Yeah probably the same guy. I got eggs from him and had about a dozen roosters. The quality was ok but the biggest issue with all these guys that think they have great roosters for feathers have serious feather stem twisting. I can manage with them since I’ve been tying flies for a long time but it’s still not worth the hassle. There’s a lot more than looks to make good feathers.Don't know. Yep some of the best flies are simple to tie. They don’t have to look good to work.I don't have one tied up right now but using these ingredients (pretend it's all black with chartreuse legs) makes a great sinking fly. Beads for eyes, black chenille body, short chartreuse legs down the sides, and a tiny rabbit fur tail. Simple, easy to tie, and works for any kind of panfish or bass. I've also caught a 10lb blue cat with it.

Yeah that’s more of a marketing thing than actual useful feathers. They can be used but not worth the money to even feed them that long. The same amount of money could be spent buying the feathers with no added hassle of dealing with the roosters themselves.IDK what the hell I’m talking about. It was just a thought.
