Does anyone tie their own flies, (not ZIP, as I’m sure - er, hope - most of you have mastered by now) or flies for someone else, using their own birds? I tie my own but I don't use the saddles or hackles from my own birds to use for floating flies. The ones you buy are specifically bred for that and it would be very hard match their quality.

Well, I do use line.

I have friends that use line.

But most of the line users hate bugs. Which includes flies.

I have bees, which are kind of like flies, except they express their displeasure more aggressively than a fly would.

I have tried to tie them down, I can’t make a knot to hold them. They have 6 legs, which complicates the whole hogtying process.

I have had a few people ask for feathers or birds because they tie flies. Which is weird, I mean, do they use line to lasso them?

I have a telephone line, I don’t know how many of you remember what that is. But I think it’s too big to tie a fly with.
