Looks like a Speckled Sussex cockerel. (So a he, not a she.) Could be wrong but the comb and wattles look very large and red for a lady Sussex.

That would depend on the age.

Notice that despite the red comb and waddles there are NO pointy saddle feathers that would indicate male.

I agree likely Speckled Sussex. The other option mentioned Jubilee Orp... doesn't seem like right body type, but yes that was a good guess. They are very similar looking. Both beautiful! I like the Speckled Sussex.

She's lighter, as in has more white, than my SS. She's a character... and she's my first one who's decided to go broody. SIGH. Gotta break her of that one. Unfortunetly, she's the only one I wouldn't purposefully breed too. Mine came from Meyers, and she has a curled toe. I wouldn't want to breed that on.
