For those who have really bad headaches of any kind on a regular basis - I'd recommend an appointment with a neurologist. There are some really great new meds and treatements available out there, and many 'regular' MDs have very little understanding of what causes headaches and migraines and how to treat them.
Also, many of the alternative therapies can be useful - such as chiropractic help.
And, (obviously) doing your best to eliminate or avoid known triggers.
My hubby works in neuro and a lot of their patients are headache sufferers.
