She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

That's the .40 right? Hubby has the 92FS which is the 9mm. Both of those look identical to my Cheetah (84FS)... only they are much bigger!! I don't conceal the 84, but its a single stack and a little slimmer, so it wouldn't be too difficult for most people to conceal. But I'm a tiny little thing, so its hard for me to conceal much.

Yes, that's the .40. I also have the Ciener .22 conversion for it so I can plink all day to keep in shape with a 5 minute barrel and magazine swap.

Ok I went out take care of my chickens put a blade on the mower check the mower to see if I bent the crankshaft talk to a customer on the phone .Takes about 2 hrs. come in to 6 new pages .And after 45 min. I'm caught up.so far I've made to feel old scared and dumb. let me see if I've got this right Amy slept late again WV has been tracking squirrels walnut Hill has been running through the woods on a dirt bike carrying a gun that to big to hide and we have a newbe with eggs hatching at 14 days and SC playing chicken detective and getting or giving a math lesson . Is that about right .I think there are enough guns on these 6 pages to put down a small rebellion .and all I have is a 6 shooter 35 lever action and shotgun or 2 and a 22 carbine old because my guns are. dumb because I don't Know what these guns are and scared because you'll might shot me if I say the wrong thing. now my chickens only get out when I can watch them But with 4 breeds it impossible to let them all out at once I have a who friend swears by his dog witch I can't spell the name of . it's great something or other great big and white. says I should get one looks it could eat as much as horse and anything that eats that much has got to crap that much so I'll not be getting one those. I have to go to work tomorrow so I'll come back 10 pages behind don't do smart phones .
I think you summed it up w//the exception of being old and dumb.

Great Pyrenees. Best livestock dog there is
I want a Dane. Don't know if I could afford to feed one though..lol

So in other news my bronze turkey has decided today is the day to start sitting. Not sure how many she is on she had 10 in the next yesterday but there are 4 of them so next time she is off I'll get me a head count. Also should have a hatch Monday Tuesday and I'm way hands off. My eggs are being incubated 30 minutes away from me. A friend agreed to hatch them so no candling or worrying with humidity or temps and no hourly pics of eggs sorry Amy

We're on 15 acres, and I would fence in about an acre if it were only one breed, but we have a lot of hawks, too. In the first 3 years I lost chickens to 2 hawks, a fox, a 'possum (that's how we say it down here), a raccoon, and a feral cat. That's why I like Hav-a-Heart traps. Makes them much easier to shoot;) . I did learn that you could shoot a feral cat between the eyes with a 22 and they would still run for 50 yards, but if you hit them with a 25-06...:gig My pens look like Fort Knox now. No more chicken wire, all hog wire, anchored a foot into the ground, with framed, hog wire roofs
Wow 15 acres! That's nice, I wish I had that many acres. I only have a bit over two acres, but I need to finish my coup this weekend. My orpingtons have a few weeks left in the brooder maybe. Hubby told me I can't shoot the .22 in the yard, but I just remembered I have a beautiful Ten Point crossbow, that I love to shoot. That should take out a raccoon, fisher cat, coyote etc... Took out a pretty big doe this winter so, also thinking of setting up the night vision trail cam, just to see what's around. I've had my hav-a-heart trap set for a stupid ferrel cat that's around. I am not a cat person, I won't hurt one of I don't have to, but if anything messes with my chickens it's done for. Sounds like you have a nice set up over there, I'm going to bury wire too.
:th If I were raising pure breds, I would be less likely to free range for a couple reasons. One the monetary loss is greater, (even if the sentemental is not,) and two I would want to keep the line pure w/out having to seperate out to breed in case I had someone that wanted eggs, or I decided split second I wanted to hatch a certain breed. The only pure breds that I have that I would be using for breeding is the Spitzhaubens. I plan on them going in their own coop and run this fall, but I only plan on keeping 6 of them. I'm sperating them out this weekend to figure out (if I can) sexes and what I am keeping then the others will go on CL.
I'm only going to have purebreds, and I'll let them free range. I didn't even think of it until you said that. I think I'm naive to the fact that I'll lose some chickens at some point. I hope not though.
I'm a newbie. guess I'll wing it. :cd
I'm a newbie too! Good luck, I'm sure your hatch will turn out great! You already have two EE's

:smack :fl I don't need to find out if my incubator back up plan will work, this came through:
Severe Thunderstorms Expected This Afternoon Across North Country
...STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE NORTH COUNTRY...
SCATTERED STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK BETWEEN NOON AND 2 PM TODAY AND SPREAD EAST INTO VERMONT BY MID AFTERNOON. THE PRIMARY SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL BE STRONG AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS...ALONG WITH LOCALIZED HEAVY DOWN POURS WHICH MAY CAUSE ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING.
IN ADDITION...FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND HAIL UP TO ONE INCH IN DIAMETER IS POSSIBLE. THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL SHIFT EAST OF OUR REGION BY 7 PM THIS EVENING.

It came down real hard about a half our ago, seems to have passed, hope so. Hope it doesn't come back!
Hope it stays away!
 :rant I'm gonna show you snookie!!!

Is this crazy?

I swear I can tell that I have a roo already. My two orpingtons were the same size, in fact last week the husband and I were just saying that we couldn't tell those two apart. Well now ones comb is much larger than the other, and the feet are now bigger, and legs are thicker. His head looks even bigger now, and he looks fatter compared to the other grey one. I know it's too early to tell, but I'm predicting roo since he's grown so much larger than all the others in less than a week. His comb is bigger so far but they're babies sill so I'm not sure that matters.

That's how I can tell early with mine. Most of mine are good ole barnyard mixes, so there's no auto sexing here. My last hatch I went by the size/color of comb and wattles, or the size of the comb space in the other comb types. I had mine figured out before the crowing and laying...lol I am having a heck of a time with the Spitzhaubens, but I think I am finally getting a clue where gender is concerned.

Out of the 9 barnyard mixes I kept from the easter hal, I am pretty sure that 2 are roos and the rest are hens. Now I have to sort out the Spitzhaubens.
