I had good luck with Partraige rock bantams, 4 hens out of the 4 that lived, I think that we had started with 5 though, so maybe the rooster died. That was a lucky breed, for Mille Fluers, I had 3 roosters to 2 hens. And I got luck with my 4 surviving D'Anvers, 3 hens to 1 nice rooster

I still love my duckies but the duck hens can be some kinda loud! Coming from a turkey owner who has 3 soundin off roos...

They usually are quiet through the night, but Calls will sound off if something startles them...

Don't beat yourself up... BCM's are hard... ask Alaskan if you want to hear about some horrific BCM hatches... going total dry incubating with them does seem to help, btw... think the extra coating restricts water evaporation from the eggs... just theories going around on that...

blackbirds just said the same about dry incubation. I just can't do it. Amy would never let me hear the end of it
