@WVduckchick my second hatch was a lone survivor... Lady Grey is my first girl... the drakes circle the porch all day long, lol...

Will comment on the BCM and Marans eggs in general. In the past eight year I have hatched several thousand Marans eggs. The first five years I hatched a very large amount each, past three years around 100 each year. I have never found the Marans eggs to hatch any different than any other Large fowl breed. If the egg is fertile I can hatch. Don
