She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I'm not even sure yet! More bantam cochins if I can find some eggs, or d'uccles, or seramas.... Otherwise, I might try some of my SIL's mixed mini-bantams.
I know you said you were wanting to stick with the bantams. I vote d'uccle. I have some I could send you, but honestly you could get better quality birds. I would like to see what you could do with some SOP mille fleurs. They are beautiful little birds with great personalities

nah, I don't think so. She's one of my favorites, because when she was a chick something happened to her eyesight, and I helped her through it, so she's super sweet. Her name's Hellen Keller.
So is the screaming fine? Nothing's wrong with her?
Oh, her name's Hellen Keller? Then it's easy to make her stop screaming. Put mittens on her

I have never heard one scream quite like that, but I did have a BR in the girls only pen that used to try and crow. That was creepy...

Nooooooooooooooo!!!! No LG!!! Not the 9300!!!!!. A good cast iron skillet would be much cheaper.
Seriously, that incubator is horrible. It has been beaten to death on this thread. What is your budget? Don't buy the one that you can get today just because it is convenient. You will regret it in the long run. If you do a trial of Amazon Prime for free, you can get virtually any incubator in 2 days. Buy the best you can afford, it's worth it. For styro, I highly recommend Hovabator

I'd suggest putting them outside and letting them learn to be fowl.

Working on that before I return them to their rightful owner and he throws them in an aviary with 9 adult peafowl.

You have a hen that screams like a peacock? There's an old cure for that, but it works. Dig a deep hole in the ground in your cellar that she can't get out of, then put her in the hole and turn the lights out. Drop skin lotion to her in a bucket on a rope. Make her put the lotion on. If she doesn't do it, then spray her down with a hose until she does. If after two weeks of this she won't stop screaming, then you make a lamp :thumbsup

Do you shop online? Really, Amazon Prime is hard to beat. If you don't have it, you can do a 30 day trial, then cancel. I actually kept the account for the benefits. One of the benefits is automatic 2 day delivery of any Prime product, which most are. You could find a 1602N, sign up for prime, and have it here by Friday. If you are going to be incubating more than one or two batches of chicks, it really is worth the investment of time and money to start with the best you can

You love prime! I do too. I forgot to cancel the membership and I'm glad I did now. But you should see my bank statement: "amazon, amazon, amazon....". Every time I go to buy something I think "I wonder if it's cheeper on amazon".

You think that's rough? And you want imprinted Calls??

Wait til you have this

screaming the house down because you dared to think you could go pee by yourself... :lau

Too cute! If I was keeping the peas and didn't have small children hanging on me all day, then I think I'd really enjoy it. But they grow up to be GIANT birds that scream so loud that your neighbors want to poison them. At least calls stay small and they will be mine! :)
