Finished my latest coop yesterday, cleaning up my mess today

Love it. I need a few with bigger runs. My Wyandottes finally started laying this weekend and I have them separated off.

I don't think I told you guys, I made my first sale yesterday! Sold my 3 polish babies. Didn't really want to, but they don't really fit into my plan, so I figured it would be easier with them young. 2 months. Sold within hours of listing on CL to a young fella (and his prim-and-proper girlfriend! Lol)

Congrats WV! The first one is a lot of fun. And so are the rest of them.

I got my first egg from coop 2 today. My Easter hatch girls. They are I believe 19 weeks so I've been waiting. I believe it's one of the bantams as it's tiny!!! I've never seen one quite so small. So I decided to put an egg in the nest box to try to coax them to realize that's where they should go...they ate it!!!! I need to get a couple fake eggs.

I got my gloves out to reapply a little of the blue kote to Elvis, got him out, dabbed his head and he decided to do the wet dog shake.....all over me. needless to say I was in a t shirt and shorts. Looked like I had blue pox. I discovered Lava soap works real well removing it-even after it was dry.

It was bound to happen. Glad you found a solution.

Surprise! I came home to 2 eggs in the nest box! You know what that means? At least one of my silkies is female!! The only other possibility is a 16-week old LO, so I'm betting on the silkie that was squatting for me, Molly, or both!

Also stopped on my way home and picked up my Brinsea. Found a few extra goodies in the bottom of the box. A couple nice thermometer/hygrometers and a scale, so I'll test them for accuracy tonite.

Awesome pic. Is he blue or black? I just purchased some BCM from a lady that Bev recommended I buy Bev Davis stock from. They should arrive Wed. The shipped egg purchase did not work out.

That's exactly what made me blue. You get emotionally attached to the ones you try so hard with. I assisted several in my first few hatches. I'm full on blue now. I haven't even candled the eggs I have in right now

Besides the chicks that were shrink wrapped I have lost every one that I helped within a few days. Bad legs, won't eat, etc. Moving closer to blue team with each hatch. Culling a little chick is way harder than leaving nature to do it's thing in the shell.

That makes sense. I thought you had all black. I have one blue marans roo that attacked me this morning and gave me a 1 inch blood blister. He was an unwanted extra anyway. Darn near killed him with my Monday morning rage. BUT, all I did was hold him down for a minute and have a little chat with him. If someone don't take him soon he will be stew.

What part of day 18 does one lockdown? At the beginning or towards the end? Does it matter?

I usually mid way through the day, depending when I set.

Check your air cells. If they are ready, lock down early. If they could use another day at lower humidity, wait till later in the day.

Depends on your take
Do u candle? If you do, then you can see the babies internally pipping and lock down at that time, if you dont, you can listen to them. Otherwise: like u wont be able to be home for doing those things? Then i would wait, til later because its day 21 your shooting for with chickens anyway

I threw out my duck eggs, sat was day 37, the longest the duck part in the learning center told me to give them. :'( stupid LG 93 fried them, i caught it at 106 at one time im boxing that stupid thing up, and sending it back to my friends house!

Aww man. That stinks. I'm not a fan of the 9300. It's just not worth the money to pay for something that doesn't work.

Dont worry yall its off, unplugged and it wont kill anyone else in my care! My friend swears she can hatch in it and has only ever lost one other whole set. I told her she can mess w it, im done until i can get something else in place!
