She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

never thought about taking ones out of the incubator and giving them to her. Got 31 in the bater right now, she wouldn't have to wait long for them to hatch lol

I did it with my last broody cuz it was too hot for her to sit... worked really well... just have to make sure she's dedicated to it first though... :)

I'd be more likely to throw out Princess Bride or Young Frankenstein ;-)
"Humperdinck Humperdinck Humperdinck!" Yep, I've seen that movie.

An MP quote? Really? I thought you were nicer than that :smack :smack
What do you think he means by MP?

At what age do boys start acting like gentleman? Once they start mating or even as cockerels? I'm waiting for mine to step up a little. But he is a silkie... Depends on their guardian :lau
I don't know how to act. I came home to a stable incubator, holding perfect temperature, 34% humidity (no water added). What am I supposed to do for 3 weeks?? :idunno
I know...it's the longest 3 weeks ever!
yep. Doing duck eggs as a first incubation made it even harder. Longest 4 weeks ever.

Good point! I did that and you are so right. 3 weeks is short, I'll look at it that way.

Point taken... Lucky for me, you love me anyway!

Really?? Here in public school, you not only have to get your child's supplies but supply half the class as well because "we" (I say that with much sarcasm) believe in "community" supplies in the classroom.... Sore subject with me......

And good luck!!!

We also receive quite the list of the "bring this in". Now, it boggles my mind how kids in private schools... mind you... those schools get no public funding... can provide an education that surpasses that of the public schools for far less money. Ok, I'll quietly step off my soap box now.

I candled my shipped eggs quickly as I was tilting them tonight. I'm so mad at myself for not going with overnight shipping!!

I at least, lost another two. The veins are receding and it looks like black blobs stuck on the side of the egg! That's 6 I've lost and a couple more look iffy. I hate tilting them too. It looks like all the stuff is settled in the pointy end of the egg. Maybe tomorrow (day 12) I'll really candle and lay the ones that are still alive on their side and turn. What do you guys think? It's just so disappointing. At this point I'll just be happy with a pair. A very expensive pair!
You should see the items on the school supply list! Pack of multi-sized post-it notes, 3-pack box of tissues, Clorox wipes, dry erase markers, sharpie markers, erasable pens, etc, etc, etc. it's becoming insanity. I'm not "staples".
I wonder if overnight shipping just means that they have to hurry when they scramble the eggs.

You have to understand, it's not often that us old folks get to use our age to get one over on you kids. That thread was genius, and it's 4 years old. The reason I was rolling at your last post was because you said "it was posted in the games and jokes section". That should have been a hint

You guys have got to check this out. I'm ashamed I hadn't already thought of it

Oh my. That thread is hilarious!!!

I gave eggs that had internally/externally pipped to a broody. She sat on them all night, but when they started hatching, she ran away from them, and never looked back. She was in love with the idea of brooding nice quiet little golf balls, but when faced with a squawking chick, she wanted nothing to do with it!!!
