LOLI honestly had no doubt, without even asking lol
Wow!
Turken are very tasty, we used to raise themLOL
By the way I've heard tell that Turkens are some of the best tasting birds. The only thing is they take a month or longer to be ready for butchering.

No they are not a cross. They are a true chicken breed, but they got the nickname "Turken" because someone somewhere down the line did mistake them as a cross between a chicken and a turkey.Ok my dumb question, hubby and I were discussing this earlier today... Is a turken a chicken/turkey cross or just another chicken breed? I honestly didn't know. Yes, I can look it up, but I'd just as soon look stupid right now lol
My dom roo is a turken and I have a hen that's a turken/ee (Araucana ee). I'm hoping to get lots of little nns from this hatch and hopefully some nn/silkies to start my showgirl project, or a cleaner necked nn roo so that I can start next spring.Turken are very tasty, we used to raise them
Did you find it took longer to raise them to be ready for processing?Turken are very tasty, we used to raise them
