Im set up for my duck yard, its huge enough that they dont destroy their area too bad in these three months. I want a second part added on once we can build a good pond. I wont go half way at the pond because i want fish outside also so it hasnt been constructed. I keep thinkn about those calls but deciding no because thats Another New pen to build :-/ i couldnt keep em safe, so, not yet

The duck yard is about 125' long and it tapers from 25' to 10'

The trio of BR turkeys live in a 20' x 20' pen.

Even the quail have more space than they can ask, 3 of em live in a cage designed for 8

Buff Orpington? Those were my first chickens ever. All of them are gone now, but I loved them. One used to love perching on my head. Her name was Lizzie "Queen Elizabeth"

*I think* you'll get closer to 25% with blue shell, varying shades of the brown coatings... Punnett square it... since the layer is EE/Leghorn then she's only carrying 1 blue egg gene and the other carries none...

Me either, but I may have something worth trading in the spring. I think you are right on the genetics - that's why so many people are disappointed with EE or OE - you need to be sure one parent has two copies of the blue gene or the chances of getting blue/green eggs from offspring goes way down.

That is off, I believe, sorry...

First, there is no 'brown egg gene'... shells are either white or blue... so w/w or b/b, EExLeghorn would be w/b... (I know those aren't the right symbols, but hope it makes sense)

The brown coating is controlled by a whole other set of genes, so coating will vary but not sure how...

The Facebook OE chart uses O for blue and o+ for white. Good Ameraucana = O/O Leghorn, Marans or any non blue-green layer)= o+/o+

So sideWing will have a Marans o+/o+ and an EE o+/O and the offspring will get the 25% chance like Ravyn said! Brown coatings are a much more complicated issue, for sure.
