Eventually ima get another computer and ima b wantn u to send me that spreadsheet, doing all that by hand is Hard on my dyslexic brain. Please ignore the mistakes! Im really glad that i calculated the percentages though because i thought the humidity was too high. All week its been close to 80% outside all day everyday :(

I keep a record like that in a spiral note book. Just helps me to look back and see any trends. I've noticed that I often see a bit of a temp spike on day 7. I think there are certain days when the chicks pass a metabolic mile stone, where they start increasing their little bio ovens, and kick out more of their own heat. With a thermostat, it shouldn't matter, but... i find that it matters!

Very interesting! Thank you for sharing! This is only my second attempt ever but reccords are really important for my lack of a long term memory ;) i have an "Angry Birds" notebook :D

This little quail chick has gotten extremely dehydrated. I've stuck his beak in water about a half a dozen times since he hatched but to no avail. It's like he had no interest, what so ever in drinking. Now he's really paying for it. I'm putting drops of sav-a-chick into the side of his beak. (Great pic that Ravyn posted of the trachea.). Anything else I can do? Has anyone done fluids under the skin with a needle. Sub-something, I forget what it's called??

Subcutaneous rehydration, you would need normal saline and an iv cannula or needle and syringe.

This is the chart I made for SilkyDucks
Your welcome to mine, just be cautious because the fields are still unprotected and its been a year since I looked at it, so double check functions.

oh and there are several basic incubation charts in the HATCHING 101 Article

I had a temp spike today (day 7) also! I'm hoping that's a good sign that there are actually developing embryos in these damaged eggs. :fl
