UGHHH so I will do some more research in the SC GA states then. Anyone from SC ?Okayyyy. I was born in Utica, (New Hartford actually but my mom thought the hospital was still in Utica until she got my birth certificate). I grew up a little more north than your top line up past Watertown...lol I lived in the Syracuse area for 12 years after I graduated college. That's a big area to look at. As for the carry laws...yeah, ever since the "safe act" carriers in this state have not been very happy. I don't own a gun, so I don't know all it entails but I know "repeal the safe act" signs are very prominent....lol Between the weather, the taxes and the laws, the state sucks....lol Windchill factor making temps 30 and 40 below aren't fun...lol
I would say more like 4 ish??? My ex was stationed at Green Haven Correctional and he had a 6 hour drive to get back up here? That was Dutchess county I think...You're close to that aren't you?
Hubs and I love hunting fishing, raising our 2nd batch of kids, our springers and chickens of course!
AND WE ENJOY BEING HERMITS! anotherwords, I am not a town girl, I dont like to see neighbors or their houses

LOL when I ask I only get serama who cant sit on many standards! those hens are always brooding!Never ask for broody's... I swear it's the worst, most contagious disease out there... up to 3 Silkies and 2 Am's again...![]()
I am not sure about Michigan, never really looked into it. please tell me more about the state? at least its "out of the towns" areas lolThe secret ingredient is dill pickle juice
LMAO
I live in Northern Michigan and love it here. Thankfully we have open carry. Important especially during the spring when I am out mushroom hunting. You NEVER know what you will run into.
There is a livestock auction every Wednesday here. Never been but I want to go.
I think I saw that show live free or die and the shroom hunters were in Michigan
Dill pickle juice? Will have to look into that one!
Mollymoochers?
Dont go to Md, they have stricter gun laws than anybody! Might as well not even own one if you live in that state!
DONT WORRY I wont go to MD! we were just at point look out, and drove that side of the bay, and there is no way I could deal with it! I cant get into detail but anyone from that area will know what I am talking about
sweet! love the color! hubs is painting our livingroom as I said the color earlier but the color match looks more like a gray than blue I was going for, but it works, at least lowes had the buy two for one yesterday, one day only! SOLD I should have bought more paint for the other rooms!Got the coop 90% done. Ordered the trim & soffits today and should be at the store by Friday. Got the exterior & interior walls done. Next is to seal the walls & floors, build the nesting boxes & roosts, figure out how to lay it all out and get the poop door. I want to put it on a timer. Oh and cant forget the fencing for the run.

YUM!!!! how is hunting in GA and I assume its one of the good fishing states, hubs says to ask around about tornado areas in the lower states?Fall is the best time to hunt in Georgia. Today we found a dozen HUGE Chanterelles in the woods behind our house. My daughter picked them and fed them to the bachelors. There were probably hundreds of visible mushies back there. Dozens of russula, some enormous bolatus, all kinds of coral fungi, and even some slime molds. If I wasn't so preoccupied with the chickens and the chirruns, I would have taken so many pics.
What do you hunt?
Pretty avatar. Most of the chicks from our first hatch are BA mixes, too. I can't wait to see what they look like when grown. Feel free to post pics.![]()
Tell us more about TN, dad loves it there he takes his bassboat fishing once a year. Hunting I assume is good as well? taxes etc?Love wild 'shrooms... and being able to carry here, lol... TN's laws are the least strict on owning/carrying/using I think... and prolly won't change anytime soon either... when our neighbors(OH's cousin, unfortunately) dogs got out and slaughtered our entire grow out pen, Sheriff point blank told me we can protect our property... PERIOD...![]()
We only go for morels here thats all my grandfather taught me so I too dont trust eating stuff I have no clue about.I hunt spring & summer. Mostly just morels, pheasant backs and I found my first set of oysters this year. I got a mushroom id book & a edible wild plants book. Not only do I hunt mushrooms but also plants. I am blessed to have a patch of ramps (wild leeks) on our property literally 30 feet from the house.
ditto, I would love to stumble on some ginseng too. just one LOLDrizzled all day yesterday, enough to screw up my plans. Now its starting to rain harder...
We've looked for morels before (mollymoochers 'round these parts lol) but mushrooms scare me because of so many being poisonous. I want to look for some ginseng this year.
How is WV to live in? thats close enough to buy and travel until the one kid is out of school (she is 15.5) lol
