She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Took me a while to catch up.

WV sorry to hear about your chicks.

I grew up hunting morels in ID, but we always hunted them in the spring. Probably because of the whole desert thing. I've just started hearing about summer/fall mushroom hunting, but haven't tried it yet. The joke I always heard is the list of "expert" mushroom hunters get shorter every year. I guess I'm a bit of a chicken.

Oh man, it took your quote away again and I can't remember what the heck I was going to comment on!
LOL I dont think anyone can be a fan of huricanes and roaches??? why so bad there?...... well there are a few that like those big roaches eeeeewwww
I lived in FL for 5 years. The roaches are bad. And palmetto bugs are HUGE. Anyone that moves there should like lizards because they are everywhere! I opened the lid to the washing machine once and turned on the water and one ran right out! Nearly gave me a heart attack!
Sally, sc lives in SC, ask him, lol... As for TN, taxes aren't bad... no state income tax... and TN is now giving first 2 years of college free to high school grads... Edited to add, oh yeah, the Sulmtaler roos name is Duke, lol... :D
Free college? That is amazing and such a wonderful thing. Nowadays kids can't get far without some form of college.
Not sure what you are asking with "why so bad there?" You mean NY or my town? That sounds tempting. I have a friend that lived in Tenn and she misses it and wants to go back. We have sales tax and county taxes (ours is 8%) on store stuff and then property and school taxes if you own a home and depending where/what county you live in, just the taxes alone can make you or break you if you have a decent home. You can't even build a shed w/out having a building permit, heck my nephew bought an already made shed and had it delivered ( a real big one) and he got fined for not having a permit (which I don't understand).
NY has red tape all over everything! I'm surprised we can still go to the bathroom without a permit! Oh yeah, I remember what I was going to ask you before...what is the lake effect? I've never heard of that.

I also have a mic stand to use when I mark aircells, its alot easier with it to hold egg in one hand and write with other, not bothering with holding flashlight. What I use after hatching so many marans, I needed a good one! its a 3000 lums/lumens I researched to find the brightest I could get in the most handy as well as cheap! I have bought up to 1500 lums and couldnt see into dark blue eggs, now they look like I am candling a duck egg, very quick fast and done. Love it! Well worth the money spent and the rechargeable batteries rock! I missed something, what was the question? If Sally is a yankee, it's awful down here
Fits him!

Yeah, the SC kinda goes right along with it, doesn't it?

Another member on this thread, sidewing, got what look to be some good BCM chicks several weeks ago. I've had fun posting pics of my good Ams, but when he shows up this afternoon I'm going to post pics of some badly bred BCM chicks so he can see the difference. If you know your birds, feel free to comment on them. I know they are off, and you won't hurt my feelings

Did some mushroom hunting in CO on a vacation in my 20s. That was an interesting weekend

SC those kind of mushrooms are found in cow pastures lol

I did so good with cucumbers this year but I had my hands full with a new baby and new chicken babies. So I will read all about pickling this winter and then look for those seeds and start early in spring. Thanks!
One absolutely MUST try cucumber is Suyo Long. It's an open pollinated variety, grows about 12" long, tender skin, never bitter. I've not made pickles with it, but am convinced that it'd be a fantastic pickler if used young. http://cdn1.johnnyseeds.com/images/Product/large/333G.jpg

What do you use lime for?

Cute
stink, just like a outhouse, poop and powder LOL

hmmmm really, if I remember correctly when I was in MD the other weekend I was called a redneck several times.

First time for everything.... was very weird... The ummm "croud" next to us in the campground thought we turned them in for being obnoxious in many ways, throwing trash in the woods and peeing right at us, cant give more detailsj, anyways they weren't smart enough to figure out the camp host was in front of them! DOH

oh and... I have a busy day though, if I can catch up that is! We didnt get near as much done on the house this weekend so its push this week.
