Not sure if I can handle knowing eggs are incubating and I can't mess at will.

Now your silkies brood and hatch right in the coop with no separation right?

I bet they are fine.
Room in the coop for a cot?

Gachooks!! We were talking about you today. We miss you.

Are you intresested in participating in the ship a thon this spring-ish?

My humidity made it up to 67% and I think that's where it's staying, what should I do now? I was told if I plan to mess with them the humidity should be at about 72%, would 67% be close enough or should I try to add another sponge?
It's high enough for hatching as long as you can keep it there and if you do open make sure you bring it right back up.

LOL. Not quite that devoted. (Yes there's room..lol) But I want to keep running out and see if she's still on the eggs...lol When I closed up the coop she was bunkered down on them still. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the others as that's where everyone of them lay. lol

You're eating it, not me!!! :gig
I'd just leave it... got a clean spray bottle handy? Keep warm water in it and if you have to go in, give a spritz around before closing back up...

K, I'll leave it be then. Thanks guys :)

My eggs got the heat turned off for about an hour. Heat dropped down to 86. Hasn't been a week yet. I'm going to candle them on Fri or Sat. Who thinks they are still fine?

My incubator actually has a set "cooling period." Its been proven that if we simulate how momma leaves the neat each day for short periods letting the eggs slightly cool that we can do better with our incubators. Theres an artical on it in the duck hatching part of our learning center :)

That's exciting! Wonder if she will get 100% too? :)
Post a pic of her when you get a chance please. I was so happy that mine hatched, then lost 4 of the 5 to my burned out bulb :(

Are you using the cooling feature? Mine has it too, but I didn't use it. I have read that its more beneficial to ducks, but haven't read the article relating to chickens. I'll look that up.
