She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

She could give you tips now and if you take notes you'll have them for when you're ready... or just ask when you're ready... :)
Welcome to the madness! :)

I think someone said they were in MD, but I can't remember who now... I'll probably get :smack for that too, lol...

I am about a days flight away... in a very slow airplane, or with many layovers, but at least I'm on pacific standard time so I can keep some of the insomniac chicken parents company while they're pacing, waiting, and wringing their hands until they pass out from exhaustion,

are you staying up?

x's 2.

Looks like 1/3 Araucana eggs is DIS and other 2 are either internally pipped or close to it... what do you think? :gig

@RavynFallen
 I have been looking at the Ameraucana and some seem to have a bit of beard and some don't. They don't really stay still long enough to get pics. Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for to decipher male or female? I am not familiar with this type of comb at all.

Sorry, looks like my new Lav roo is only carrying 1 bearding gene, so some may not have beards... :(

As for telling boys from girls, well... sit back and enjoy your tea for a bit... they take longer than other breeds (except Silkies) to tell apart... gotta wait til the boys combs start reddening up quite a bit... probably close to 8-10 weeks or so...

You guys are mean. lol @meganhundley asks about temp spikes and you start talking about BBQ. :gig Could be wrong, but I don't think it'll hurt 'em, Megan. I'm all for BBQs Let's DO IT!! Now, back to my last post to try and play catch up. :caf
Wait... who's mean? Dang I missed a bunch today, lol...

My ameraucanas - wheatens are the girls and blue wheaten are roos. Haven't started laying yet but I have my fingers crossed for beautiful blue eggs.

Think you may need strong coffee. That's ok about the beards. Like variety. Missed the post. Just skipping on ahead.

I've got my phone in constant contact with BYC, I will absorb as much info as I possibly can and promise to write down anything I think I won't remember...then my five kids will probably help me lose the paper, I'd better make duplicates on that note.

That sounds like me... except I hide them from myself... :lau
