She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

but your rooster is positively stunning!
It's funny you say that. I use that word in the ad. Thank you, I really lucked out with him. He was my pick of the four I got straight run. Believe it or not, he came from Murray McMurray

I think the whole gothic chicken thing is cool, but not enough to warrant the prices they were fetching...lol
Amen

My wife just called and said that number 22 just hatched. One more and it will be a personal record. He will be spending the night in there to see if he can talk the other four out

This thread gives me an idea. You know the TV show "Barmageddon" where bar owners swap bars and try to do better than the owner? Think how cool that would be with incubators. SC, you get to use Amy's LG, and Amy, you get to use SC's Brinsea.

Who's more successful now?

This is the best thread ever!! I've been incubating eggs for a few years with various success. Lots of reading Backyard Chicken posts on every possible idea.
Right now I have four incubators running... Not Briseas... One really old foam bought at a poultry auction by a friend and given to me. Two forced air Tractor supply and one still air...
I have six bantam silkies mixes from a friend, four pipping now on the 19th day......
and the others hopefully hatching a few days apart for the next week.
One group of eggs are Welsummers and pure Silkies that I got through the mail from someone on Backyard Chickens.
Another group is from Val on Backyard Chickens and are Buff Orpingtons, Cochins and Dominiques.
Trying to be patient with the current group as four have pipped today. One early this morning and whose little beak is really working hard..
I'm loving this thread as I want to be like Scflock but have a natural inclination towards AmyLynn's mothering traits...

I love my chickens and spend a lot of time photographing their eggs...

I'd probably mess it all up cause I wouldn't be used to a bator that you didn't have to fidget with!!

First, I love love that pic!!

Good luck on all the hatches. Bless you for being able to keep 4 incubators straight...lol
As for the pippers, have you ever played chick music for them? I use this video:

and it really keeps them motivated. When they have pipped, I just play it periodically through the day. When they are zipping, I play it on a loop when they start, and they are usually out in 15 minutes, give or take...lol

Welcome to the thread, btw.

I work way out in the boondocks, and just happened to drive by an old block building that I had passed before, but it was lunchtime, and the lot was full of pickup trucks, so I stopped to see what all the fuss was about. I walked in the front, and there was a long buffet set up with 4 middle aged black women running the operation. You yankees will have to excuse me here, but this was redneck heaven! BBQ chicken, fried chicken, and pork chops were the meats, and the veggies were unreal. Okra, squash, fresh tomatoes, etc..., macaroni pie, collard greens, and for dessert, home made peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream. I may have a stroke before I'm 50, but dadgummit, I enjoy my food!

Some folks eat to live and others live to eat. I'm one of the latter. I just LOVE to eat. And, I've got you all beat. You're all a bunch of puppies. I hit the big 6-0 next year.

"Batorgeddon?" Sounds like a good plan. I think someone should contact the manufacturers of Brinsea and LG, and have them supply free bators for all participants.
