She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ate an asian blue egg, or an asian blue chicken?  Can't wait till spring, and the shipathon.

Cockerel, I made coq au vin. Delicious. I have some more growing out. We eat the eggs too. That's why I did the the test hatch to make sure they have good fertility and that they breed true. Don't want to send dud eggs. Shipathon time is coming up. When the others start laying I will start separating breeds. I don't expect my younger ones to lay until spring. However, our weather has been really hot, this winter. Crazy. I also needed more than one asian blue girl. She is an excellent layer.

I would love to have lav orps, lav silkies too. Mine weren't set til 31 nov so I have a bit till I get pips. 35 showing good development now, and 3 I'm not sure on. I might give them to my broody if she keeps trying to hatch those golf balls over the next few days when it's up to 120f

So as of 8:00 this morning when I left my house: (over half-way thru day 21/28)
6 of 7 lavenders had hatched, the last one was pipped.
5 of 6 silkie/cochins - last one I am doubtful will hatch
1 of 4 mutts (golden comet x dark brahma roo) - don't know what happened with the other 3, but I guess they could just be slow
4 pips in 7 duck eggs, but none out yet. Slow, lazy ducks! haha

I got a blue silkie from my white silkie girls covered by the blue frizzle bantam cochin! And a black one, and not sure how the others colors will shake out, but they are really pretty.
I love this little black one.

Blue one. The flash washes it out more than it really looks in person

The biggest one standing left of center is the mutt. Very pretty coloring.

snuggling in my neck

and one of the lav orps

Only take advice from people you want to be like. This is for everything in life. If you want lots of chicks, take advice from people who have lots of chicks. If you want to be kind and have lots of chicks take advice from people who have lots of chicks and are kind.

Don't trust bald barbers.

Don't trust a skinny chef.

Question more.

(I know, I know, that last one is the same as that new TV news station says, https://www.rt.com/ but it is true)

otherwise you have a totally random, sometimes ok, sometimes no good life.

Some people take advice from me, and I'm a total jerk. What does that say about them? :idunno
