I Googled it and the original photo has clearly been doctored. The "ck" looks original maybe but I can't find anything to prove what it was. Lets just call it "luck" and be happy lol

I love turtles. I had a boxturtle for 22 years before she died and according to the pet shhop she was around 16/17 when I bought her. (I was 11.) I also had a snapper for a year or so, but not as fond of water turtles as I am terrestrial turtles

This turtle is new to us. It's a male painted turtle. He came home to keep my daughter's male map turtle company, and they get along great.

We also have a pair of red backed salamanders, and a dog who thinks everything is a potential delicacy.

I was on my way to the office (in Indianapolis) last week and came across a huge Blanding's turtle in the middle of the road. I stopped and helped her complete her crossing. She was probably 5 pounds and with a 10" carapace, which is fully mature. She looked ancient, and just gazed at me with a look resembling amusement while I looked her over then released her.
