Ok I'm all caught up light post today so it only took 45 min .maybe I told you this before I use FI I have two 4200s there not plastic only plastic coated with a thin shell once you get them set they hold the temp ok but there foam inside I don't mind the way they work but they are hard to clean after the hatch that's why I pulled out the old bower. I just incubate in them. buy a better Incubator if you can. check out ebay there are always hundreds on there. right now just make it through your hatch. anyway you can. I hope you get through it ok . don't worry about me having any thing to read I got plenty to do . I would pray for rain but the last time I did that It didn't stop.so now I'm behind. That's why I'm reading and posting late at night.
I decided to make something to hatch these in, IF this one fails, but so far, its working fine again. Not sure if that one flicker was a fluke or what. But thank you for the 4200 info. If I had decided to buy one, it was going to be the 4200, so I'll hold off now.
So when running dry where do yall like your humidity? Mine is between 23-28% this is day two of the 28 day haul for ducks and turkeys
I also don't like to dip below 25, actually I get nervous under 30. Will be able to gage that better after this hatch is finished because it stayed closer to 30 the whole time. I went a little higher with my ducks and turkeys, closer to 35-40, but its up to you. I think your air cells will let you know. Do you plan to lower the temp for the last days of this hatch? I dropped the temp setting 0.1 degree (C) each day for the last 10 days, so 1 degree total. The temp inside maintained the same. I can't say whether it helped or not, but I read it in Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks, so I tried it. Might be something for you to look into, if you hadn't heard of doing it before. Are you going to do a daily misting (after week 1, or whatever)? I didn't do any misting.
Yeah! so sweet!!
