I don't know about that, but I bet you could turn an LG into a grill

What is ACV? I got this at TSC, I wanted to get some sav-a chick but they were out. This had good reviews though. It has electrolytes and probiotics.
What the heck?! That can't be organi
Ayuh. Between the famuhs, and the yuppies in owa town, the town meetins can be quite lively, yuh, yuh, yuh. (The last 3 words are spoken with an intake of ayuh.)Is it possible to be a redneck in Maine? I found a pic of rossfam, but that one may be a little more difficult. Let me see...
Time for an other lively competition thread.I have come to the conclusion that "anything" can be made into an incubator.... if done properly.
Both the blue and the brown of the green will be dominant over the white, so you're most likely to get perhaps a lighter shade of green. Unless there are some recessives in either parents... I think.Does anyone know what color eggs I could get if I mixed a white egg (Polish Roo) with an EE green layer? I am just curious as to what the eggs will look like.
Probiotics are great. ACV (unpasteurized is good, but I'd be sure to offer plain water as well if using ACV). However, I am a strong proponent of fermented feed and starting the chicks out with a plug of sod from my yard during the first week to build their immunity and give them a healthy dose of natural bacteria to jump start their guts. I no longer buy probiotics. Instead, I use soil, ACV, fermented feed. I also keep Poultry Nutri-drench on hand, and give them a few doses of that. All the babies are eating and drinking!! And little splayed leg is running around with the other chicks!I put probiotics in the water. Anyone prefer ACV to probiotics?![]()
Thanks! I am glad you know that stuff. Because I am still learning. and I still don't understand what dominant and what's recessive.Ayuh. Between the famuhs, and the yuppies in owa town, the town meetins can be quite lively, yuh, yuh, yuh. (The last 3 words are spoken with an intake of ayuh.)

I'm probably the whitest person you will ever meet, but I don't think there is anything that comes out of the ocean that I don't like, at least nothing that I've tried so far. I'm a big ol' redneck, and you would never guess it to look at me, but my absolute favorite thing in the world to eat is good tuna sashimi. I would rather have a good tuna than a good steak. I have to take out a loan when I go out for sushi![]()
I feel like Godzilla storming Tokyo
Bwaaahahahaha... Don't really know how I feel about that, though. Those chicks are pitiful, good luckAnd to make you guys laugh.....Here is Zax with his crow collar on....the first two crows sound normal. But the third one will crack you up!!!!!!
What kind of comb is a BCM supposed to have? I thought it was supposed to have 5 points.I had one decent BCM rooster from my first straight run batch, but I learned on the "Eat those chickens" thread that he has a carnation comb. It's Tate that I have posted pictures of on here. He is a very cool rooster, good with the girls and nice to me, so I don't think I can let him go...
Congrats! 6 months is normal for BCM? Is it the same for most heritage breeds?Got my first BCM pullet egg last night![]()
Not very dark, but had a ton of very dark speckles. I hope that means the paint booth just isn't complete.
incubating by July![]()
Yes we hike, camp, hunt, fish, Mt Bike, snowboard, etc. I do love the mountains. This will be the shortened version:
I never got to tell you that your view is absolutely stunning! Do you like hiking?
Why don't the Ameraucana Breeders **** send them a cease and desist or an official letter or at least politely ask them to stop advertising them as Ameraucana now that they are an official breed? There has to be something they can do. That would stop 90% of the confusion. If the hatcheries started calling them EEs so would the feed stores.I find the drama between the Ameraucana and the EE people to be a bit much, but I do understand it. I also think it's totally irresponsible, false advertising, and poor business practice for the hatcheries to present their EE chicks as Ameraucanas, or even worse, as Araucanas. The hatcheries really need to get a grip on this. But, in defense of the Ameraucana breeders: There are specific color patterns that are accepted as SOP. And they are all "supposed" to be blue egg layers. They are working to standardize the breed, both in color, conformation, and egg color. Compare that to EE gals, which can be any color of the rainbow, and can lay blue, green, or any shade of brown/tan, or even pinkish eggs. I originally set out to get Ameraucanas, but settled for EE when the Am breeder in my state couldn't get hatching eggs. The more I read, the more it seemed that Ams were unreliable layers, and took an incredibly long winter vacation. So, I ordered EE chicks, and have been delightfully happy with them. They lay large beautiful eggs. Their productivity is great. I had one gal lay consistently through her first winter, even without supplemental light. They are beautiful colored birds. I just love the fact that you can end up with a huge variation in color and feather patterns. I love the EE temperament. Really, there's very little not to love about EE. I'll take a flock of EE any day over Ams. However, I do understand the Am breeders stance regarding sticking to the SOP, and getting upset when EE are referred to as Ameraucanas.
Nice, I would have thought you had a first a long time ago.Got my first mod slap yesterday... Apparently calling someone a troll is frowned upon...
Good one, good one.I don't know about that, but I bet you could turn an LG into a grill

I think you would just get lighter shade of green. I have 2 EE/leghorn mix but they are not laying yet. They have pea combs and slate legs. I'm assuming I will get light blue eggs, but hopefully a lot of them.Does anyone know what color eggs I could get if I mixed a white egg (Polish Roo) with an EE green layer? I am just curious as to what the eggs will look like.
What do you charge for a dozen? Clear cartons are a bit expensive. She's really nice and helpful, and her website was one of the first I found while googling for answers with my first hatch. I enjoy seeing someone that started as an everyday chicken keeper gain so much notoriety. It really seems like you see her everywhere now. I will give her egg labels a plug. She will print custom egg labels for you, either with her own images, or an image you give her. Her prices are reasonable, she gets them to you quickly, and my customers love the personal touch. I use clear cartons, her labels and mix colors of eggs. It all comes together really nicely![]()
Do any of you use DE for stuff like this? I have been using it as a preventative and have used it to rid my rabbits of mites that came in on a dead bird hiding in hay I bought from the feed store. So the chicks that I rescued are covered in lice!!!! I have to go to Home Depot today and get some Sevin Dust! Poor babies! I feel so bad for them. I am treating on who got pecked in the eye and its poor little eye is swollen. And one seriously looks like a white buzzard. I am going to take pics now so I can get them up on here for you guys to see.
